According to a recent survey, about half of the country’s health care experts remain unfamiliar with the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) Quality Payment Program (QPP).

The survey, which was conducted by NueMD, also found professionals who said they were familiar with MACRA were more likely to believe it would benefit their practice.

Healthcare Informatics reports the survey found 50 percent of respondents put down they were “not at all” familiar with the law; 41 percent marked “somewhat familiar.” Only 9 percent said they were “very familiar” with the legislation.

The NueMD survey reached more than 1,000 professionals regarding MACRA, and was conducted between April and June this year.

About 63 percent of the respondents worked at small practices while the survey was conducted; 42 percent owned their own practice or business.
