Dear ASHEcon Members and Friends,

After careful consideration, the ASHEcon Board of Directors has made the made the decision to cancel the in-person 2020 ASHEcon Conference scheduled to take place on June 7-10 in St. Louis, Missouri due to the ongoing threat posed by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We do not make this decision lightly and had hoped to avoid this outcome. But our priority is the health and safety of our members, conference participants, staff, sponsors, exhibitors, and supporters. We will host a smaller two-day virtual conference over the original conference dates. More information about this will be shared with you shortly.

Those who have already registered for the conference may ask that their registration fees be refunded. However, as ASHEcon is dependent on conference registration fees to operate, we hope that some members will consider providing their registration as a tax-deductible donation to ASHEcon. If you’ve already registered and wish to donate your registration fee, no action is required at this time. You’ll receive a tax donation letter from acknowledging your gift. You may also choose to apply the fees towards registration for ASHEcon 2021. If you want a refund or to apply your conference fees to next year’s conference, please submit your request via the ASHEcon 2020 Refund Request Form  no later than June 1, 2020. Please allow us at least 60 days to process the refund. Refunds will be processed in the order they are requested and via the original method of payment.

Please contact the St. Louis Union Station hotel directly at (314) 231-1234 to cancel your hotel reservation. You may also cancel your reservation through the confirmation email you received when you booked your room. If you booked a room at another property, please contact them to cancel your reservation.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the program chairs, presenting authors, discussants, peer-reviewers, registrants, sponsors, and exhibitors who gave their time to help shape the planned conference.  While we’re disappointed that we won’t be able to gather in person and share research, network and see old friends, we are excited about the possibilities that connecting online will bring to our community.

If you have any questions regarding the cancellation of the conference, please visit our FAQ page. For any additional questions, please contact info@ashecon.org.

On behalf of the ASHEcon Board of Directors, thank you for your continued support and understanding.

May you and yours be well.  We will be in touch soon.
